Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how Coastal Wave Marine handles the shipment and delivery of marine engines, generators, gearboxes, and related propulsion equipment. Due to the technical, regulated, and high-value nature of these products, shipping is managed through a structured quotation and order-confirmation process rather than instant checkout.

1. Order Processing and Handling Time

Orders are processed after full payment has been received and cleared.

Standard handling time:
3 to 7 business days for in-stock items.

Handling time may include order verification, documentation preparation, packaging, and dispatch coordination. Products requiring factory allocation, configuration, or additional documentation may require additional time, which will be communicated at the quotation stage.

2. Estimated Shipping and Transit Times

Shipping times vary based on destination, carrier, and shipping method. The following timeframes represent typical transit ranges provided for transparency and compliance with Google Merchant Center requirements.

United States (Domestic Shipments)

  • Ground freight: 3 to 10 business days after dispatch
  • Air freight (where applicable): 2 to 5 business days after dispatch

International Shipments

  • Air freight: 5 to 10 business days after dispatch
  • Sea freight (LCL or FCL): 20 to 45 calendar days after dispatch

International transit times do not include customs clearance, inspections, or delays imposed by local authorities.

3. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are not included in listed product prices unless explicitly stated in writing.

Shipping charges are calculated per order based on product size, weight, packaging requirements, destination, and selected transport method. All shipping costs are clearly disclosed on the quotation or proforma invoice prior to payment.

4. Shipping Methods

Depending on the product and destination, shipments may be arranged via:

  • Ground freight (LTL or FTL)
  • Air freight
  • Sea freight (containerized or consolidated)

The selected shipping method is confirmed with the customer prior to invoicing.

5. Packaging and Preparation

Marine engines and propulsion equipment are packaged in accordance with manufacturer and carrier requirements. Packaging may include palletization, protective wrapping, or export-grade crating. Packaging is intended to support safe transport and does not constitute cargo insurance.

6. Customs, Duties, and Taxes

For international shipments, customers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, VAT or GST, and clearance fees unless otherwise agreed in writing. Coastal Wave Marine provides standard export documentation but does not control customs processing timelines or decisions by local authorities.

For U.S. shipments, applicable sales tax is handled in accordance with U.S. tax regulations where required.

7. Transfer of Risk and Title

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer once the shipment is handed over to the carrier. Customers are strongly encouraged to arrange cargo insurance through their carrier or insurance provider.

8. Delivery Delays

Delivery estimates are non-binding and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including carrier delays, port congestion, weather conditions, customs inspections, regulatory actions, or force majeure events.

9. Delivery Inspection and Damage Claims

Customers must inspect shipments immediately upon delivery. Any visible damage must be noted on the carrier’s delivery receipt at the time of delivery. Concealed damage must be reported directly to the carrier within the carrier’s specified timeframe.

10. Shipping Inquiries and Support

All shipping terms, costs, and estimated delivery timelines are confirmed in writing before payment. Please note that customers are encouraged to contact us before placing an order if they need to clarify any details.

11. Policy Updates

This Shipping Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in logistics procedures, regulatory requirements, or operational practices. The most current version will always be published on our website.
