Shipping Policy

Coastal Wave Marine

This Shipping Policy describes how Coastal Wave Marine manages the shipment and delivery of marine engines, marine generators, gearboxes, and propulsion equipment purchased through our website.

Because marine propulsion equipment is high-value, heavy, and often requires specialized freight handling, shipping is arranged through a quotation and order confirmation process to ensure accurate logistics planning and transparent costs.

1. Order Processing

Orders are processed after payment has been received and successfully cleared.

Standard order processing time:
3 to 7 business days for products that are available in stock.

Processing may include:

  • Order verification
  • Preparation of shipping documentation
  • Product inspection and packaging
  • Freight booking and dispatch coordination

Certain products may require additional time if they involve:

  • factory allocation
  • configuration or assembly
  • export documentation

If additional preparation time is required, the estimated schedule will be confirmed during the quotation process.

2. Estimated Delivery Timeframes

Delivery timelines depend on the shipping destination, freight carrier, and selected transportation method. The timeframes below represent typical delivery ranges.

United States Shipments

Ground freight delivery:
Approximately 3 to 10 business days after dispatch

Air freight delivery (where applicable):
Approximately 2 to 5 business days after dispatch

International Shipments

Air freight delivery:
Approximately 5 to 10 business days after dispatch

Sea freight delivery (LCL or FCL):
Approximately 20 to 45 calendar days after dispatch

Please note that international delivery timelines do not include customs clearance time, which varies depending on the destination country and local import authorities.

3. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are not included in listed product prices unless explicitly stated.

Shipping charges are calculated based on:

  • product dimensions and weight
  • packaging requirements
  • shipping destination
  • freight carrier and transport method

All shipping costs are clearly disclosed on the quotation or proforma invoice before payment is requested.

Customers always receive confirmation of the total order value including shipping before completing a purchase.

4. Shipping Methods

Depending on the product and delivery destination, shipments may be arranged using one of the following transportation methods:

  • Ground freight (LTL or FTL)
  • Air freight
  • Sea freight (container or consolidated cargo)

The shipping method is confirmed with the customer before an order is finalized.

5. Packaging and Export Preparation

Marine engines and propulsion equipment are packaged according to the manufacturer’s and freight carrier’s handling requirements.

Packaging methods may include:

  • palletized shipment
  • protective wrapping
  • reinforced packaging
  • export-grade wooden crates for international transport

Packaging is designed to protect the product during transport but does not include cargo insurance unless specifically requested.

6. Customs Duties, Taxes, and Import Charges

For international shipments, customers are responsible for:

  • import duties
  • customs clearance charges
  • VAT, GST, or other local taxes
  • port handling or customs processing fees

Coastal Wave Marine provides standard export documentation required for international shipping but does not control customs processing timelines or import decisions by local authorities.

For U.S. shipments, applicable sales tax may be applied according to U.S. tax regulations where required.

7. Transfer of Risk

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer once the shipment has been handed over to the freight carrier.

Customers are strongly encouraged to arrange cargo insurance through the shipping carrier or their insurance provider if protection against transport risk is required.

8. Delivery Delays

Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance and transparency.

However, delivery schedules may be affected by circumstances beyond our control, including:

  • carrier delays
  • port congestion
  • weather conditions
  • customs inspections
  • regulatory actions
  • force majeure events

Coastal Wave Marine cannot guarantee exact delivery dates once shipments are in transit.

9. Delivery Inspection and Damage Reporting

Customers must inspect shipments immediately upon delivery.

If visible damage is observed, it must be noted on the carrier’s delivery receipt at the time of delivery.

If concealed damage is discovered after unpacking, the customer must notify the carrier within the timeframe specified by the carrier’s claims policy.

Prompt reporting is necessary to allow the carrier to investigate and process damage claims.

10. Shipping Support

Shipping costs, delivery timelines, and transportation methods are confirmed with customers before payment is requested.

Customers are encouraged to contact our support team if they need clarification regarding shipping arrangements or delivery estimates.

11. Policy Updates

This Shipping Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in logistics procedures, operational practices, or regulatory requirements.

The most current version of this policy will always be published on our website.
