Coastal Wave Marine Returns & Refund Policy

This Returns & Refund Policy explains how Coastal Wave Marine handles returns, refunds, cancellations, and delivery-related issues for marine engines, marine generators, gearboxes, and propulsion equipment purchased through our website.

Due to the technical specifications, high value, and specialized logistics involved in marine propulsion equipment, returns are subject to the conditions outlined below.

1. Refund Eligibility

We strive to ensure that every product delivered meets the specifications confirmed at the time of purchase.

Products may be eligible for return and refund only if they meet the following conditions:

  • The product is new, unused, and uninstalled

  • The product is returned in original condition

  • The product includes all original packaging and components

  • The product shows no signs of installation, modification, or use

Products that have been installed, used, modified, or damaged after delivery are not eligible for return or refund.

2. Return Request Timeframe

Customers must submit a return request within 30 calendar days of the delivery date.

Requests submitted after this period may not be eligible for review or approval.

For shipping-related issues:

Visible shipping damage
Must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.

Concealed damage or missing components
Must be reported within 5 business days of delivery.

Prompt reporting allows us and the shipping carrier to investigate and resolve the issue efficiently.

3. Return Authorization (RA)

All returns require prior written approval from Coastal Wave Marine.

To request a Return Authorization, please contact:

Your request must include:

  • Order number or invoice reference

  • Detailed explanation of the reason for the return

  • Clear photos or videos supporting the request, if applicable

If the return is approved, you will receive:

  • A Return Authorization (RA) number

  • Detailed return instructions

  • The address of the designated return facility or warehouse

Returns sent without an approved RA number will not be accepted.

4. Return Shipping Responsibility

Unless the return is due to a confirmed product defect or shipping error attributable to Coastal Wave Marine, customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

Return shipments must:

  • Use a trackable shipping method

  • Be securely packaged to prevent damage during transport

Coastal Wave Marine is not responsible for returned shipments that are lost or damaged during transit.

All returned items are inspected upon receipt before a refund decision is finalized.

5. Refund Processing

After the returned product is received and inspected:

  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Refund processing typically takes 7 to 14 business days

Customers will receive a refund confirmation via email once the refund has been processed.

Please note that the following charges are non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • shipping and freight charges

  • packaging and handling costs

  • customs duties and import taxes

  • clearance fees and documentation costs

6. Late or Missing Refunds

If you have received confirmation of a refund but have not yet received the funds:

  1. Check your bank or credit card account again.

  2. Contact your credit card provider, as posting times may vary.

  3. Contact your bank, as additional processing time may be required.

Some financial institutions may take up to 30 days to reflect a refund on an account.

7. International Orders

This Returns & Refund Policy applies to both United States and international orders.

For international returns:

  • Return requests must be submitted within 30 calendar days of delivery

  • Products must meet the same eligibility conditions described above

  • Customers are responsible for all international return shipping costs

International return costs may include:

  • freight transportation charges

  • customs duties and import taxes

  • VAT or GST

  • customs clearance fees

Original outbound shipping charges, duties, and taxes are non-refundable.

Returned international shipments must comply with all applicable export and import regulations.

Approved refunds are issued after the returned product has been received and successfully inspected.

8. Order Processing and Shipping Timeframes

Orders are typically processed and prepared for shipment within 3 to 7 business days after payment has cleared, depending on product availability and configuration requirements.

Estimated transit times after dispatch:

Air Freight
Approximately 5 to 10 business days

Sea Freight
Approximately 20 to 45 calendar days

Delivery timelines may vary depending on carrier schedules, destination country procedures, and customs clearance.

9. Tracking Information

When available, tracking details are provided by email once the shipment has been dispatched.

For freight shipments, tracking may be provided through:

  • freight carrier reference numbers

  • shipping documentation

  • freight forwarder tracking systems

10. Incorrect Shipping Address

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information when placing an order.

If an incorrect address is provided, customers must contact us immediately.

While we may attempt to assist in correcting the address, changes cannot be guaranteed once an order has entered processing or shipment.

Coastal Wave Marine is not responsible for delivery issues resulting from incorrect address information supplied by the customer.

11. Order Cancellations

Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been:

  • processed

  • allocated from inventory

  • prepared for shipment

  • dispatched

Cancellation requests submitted before order processing may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Approved cancellations may be subject to:

  • restocking fees

  • supplier cancellation charges

  • logistics or documentation costs

  • payment processing fees

Cancellation approval is not guaranteed.

12. Non-Eligible Reasons for Returns

Returns or refunds will not be approved for the following reasons:

  • change of mind after order confirmation

  • the customer no longer requires the product

  • the customer finds the product available at a lower price elsewhere

Once an order has been confirmed, it constitutes a binding purchase agreement for the specified products.
